Our Reviews

Common questions.

Will I lose my house?

In most cases, no. If you're current on your mortgage and the equity falls within state exemptions, Chapter 7 lets you keep your home. If you're behind on payments, Chapter 13 lets you catch up over 3 to 5 years while stopping foreclosure.

We will review your specific situation on the free consultation and tell you exactly what to expect.

Will my employer find out?

Generally, no. Bankruptcy is a public record, but employers don't typically check unless your job involves a security clearance or a financial role.

How long does it take?

Chapter 7 typically closes in 90 to 120 days from filing. Chapter 13 runs 3 to 5 years because you're repaying creditors through a court-approved plan. In both, collections stop the moment we file.

Can I keep my car?

Usually. If you're current on a car loan and the equity falls within exemptions, you keep the car. If you're behind on payments, Chapter 13 can catch you up. If the car isn't worth what you owe, there are options to renegotiate the loan.

Does filing stop collection calls immediately?

Yes. The automatic stay goes into effect the moment we file. Creditors must stop calling, mailing, suing, garnishing wages, and foreclosing. Violations are sanctionable, so most creditors comply immediately.

Do I need to come to an office?

No. We handle everything over Zoom, from the first consultation to the signed filing. Most clients never need to visit an office.
