SJG delivers natural gas across Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem counties, plus large parts of Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington counties. Electric service in most of that area comes from Atlantic City Electric. Whichever utility sent the notice, the bankruptcy protections work the same.
Will the gas stay on after I file?
Yes. Section 366 takes the old balance off the table as a reason to shut the gas off. What it doesn't make free is the gas you burn after filing, that's a new bill and it has to stay current.
